The new 2018 Subaru WRX STI has hit the showroom fulls and it’s looking and sounding even better than before. In the wake of the death of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, the WRX STI is really the last car standing now. It stands in the category of the Japanese performance sedan with it’s turbocharge and all wheel drive. Now whether this category is dying and that is why Nissan decided to jump the shark before it’s too late is anyone’s guess. However, Subaru are holding strong and delivering just what the punters want in this category.
In terms of shape, not much has changed on the car which makes it appealing to those that love this model of Subaru. There are some updates though, you will find improved driver assist technology, Recaro front seats as well as power adjustments for the front seats too.
In terms of how it drives, drivers will have to adjust to the new Brembo suspension and brakes updates and see whether this has had any impact on how loud the car is from the inside.
We also noticed some new shiner back trim combined with some plastic that seemed to have a softer touch. All up, this is a great new car with some much needed updates for the new year. Subaru fans will not be let down as it follows much the same pattern as usual. However, one must wonder how much longer these models of cars will last considering the major competition is already shifting elsewhere.
